New Beginning

As I reflect on this past year, I am grateful for new beginnings. 2011 was a rough year for my son and I.  My mother(Nana to my son) became ill after a major heart attack in April. We spent the remainder of the year going between ICU and rehab. Then on 12/11/11 she went into hospice at her request and then went to be with our Lord on 12/14/11. We still have much to do to settle her affairs, clean out her home and her memorial is still pending. I pray 2012 brings happiness and with much work, we can declutter and decrease the stress we have lived under for the past 6 months. Now, it is just us two, we have no other family. We are blessed to have a network of friends what I call my "village". It does after all take a village to raise a child. Our church family has been amazing! I would be lost without them. Life as a single mom has been tough. I hope this blog brings into my life more of a "village" to share wisdom and insight into this challenging task of motherhood. Come along the journey with me.
